Gartner IGA Magic Quadrant Overview
Gartner, a leading information technology research and advisory company, views identity governance and administration (IGA) as the processes required to manage identity and accessing management across enterprise systems. IGA encompasses a gamut of identity lifecycle management tools, technologies and activities.
IGA spans the operations from user account creation, to access management, provisioning, access certification and enterprise password management. IGA includes user account terminations as well as IT governance over request management processes, approval workflows, access certification, risk scoring, and segregation of duties (SoD).
Gartner Magic Quadrant Consolidation
The Gartner Magic Quadrant for Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) consolidates two previously separate. As a result of marketplace trends, IGA combines the Magic Quadrants for User Administration and Provisioning (IAM), and Identity and Access Governance (IAG).
The IGA Magic Quadrant presents a composite of the IGA market, vendors survey responses, their solutions, and Gartner’s capabilities assessment. Gartner recommends that organizations considering IGA solution should not compare vendor placements from previous IAM and IAG Magic Quadrants.
Gartner Magic Quadrant Core Functionality
Gartner views the IGA Magic Quadrant as a distinctly unified identity management solution. Additionally, Gartner considers enterprise password management and risk scoring as part of IGA.
IGA core functionality includes all activities and process in identity life cycle management. This incorporates automated workflow of provisioning accounts among heterogeneous systems, self-service access requests, and IT governance over access to systems.
IGA solutions leverage workflow automation for corporate policy enforcement of access certification, role management, entitlement mining, identity analytics, and compliance reporting.
IGA Magic Quadrant Vendors
The Avatier Identity Management Software (AIMS) suite includes any combination of the following IGA products: Identity Enforcer, Password Station, Group Requester, Group Enforcer, and Compliance Auditor.
